The evening of June 13 was cool and rainy. The hockey match cost us our venue. A catastrophe? Far from it! The wonderful FRINGE staff jumped into action and Blizzarts graciously accepted to receive us for our Moshi Moshi session with the fabulous Cherry Typhoon.

It was a nice and intimate event, and the artists didn’t hesitate to participate in our contests. One was to support the lovely Cherry by holding a hand up in the air while drawing. It was a fun reminder to people that holding poses isn’t an easy task!

After the break, our Japanese model changed into a second kimono and continued pleasing the participants with a true feast of interesting poses.

The event didn’t end before Cherry Typhoon had presented one of her magnificent burlesque numbers!

Drawing Day 2011

Do you, like many art monkeys, want desperately to upload your pictures from a past session and share it with the world: but are too shy to do so? Have you been waiting for a sign, or a higher reason to get you to come out of your digital shell? Well wait no longer!

June 4th is national drawing day (http://drawingday.org/)! And Dr. Sketchy is calling on you to help! The goal is simple: 1 million drawings around the world, on one day. So on June 4th grab an old drawing, or use our photoblog (at http://www.drsketchy.com or http://drsketchymontreal.blogspot.com/) as a reference for a new drawing! All you need to do is upload your Sketchy's-inspired drawing to our tumblr (http://drsketchy.tumblr.com/) or on your twitter or one of the myriad of other services available on www.drawingday.org and tag it with both #drawingday AND #drsketchy hashtags: and then Bam! You're part of the movement!

So do what you can, and help Dr. Sketchy's and drawingday.org help make the world a sketchier place!
